South West Ireland

21st September 2010
I recently visited the wild and wonderful landscapes of South West Ireland. What an amazing place - a mix of the Scottish Western Isles, Englands' Lakes District and Wales's Snowdonia, all put together.
A remote cottage near the quirky village of Sneem served as the perfect base for exploring. In what seemed like the all too brief time i was there, i managed to visit the The Skelligs (a long time ambition fulfilled), the most westerly point of Europe on the Dingle Penninsula, the mountains and lakes of Killarney National Park and also see much of the 'Ring Of Kerry' and it's wildlife. The weather wasn't brilliant unsuprisingly, but it wasn't awful either so i did manage to grab a few shots which i hope are worth sharing.

Please see the 'South West Ireland' gallery for the results - and i would recomend that everyone visit thios amazing place at least once!
