A Mixed Bag
13th October 2009
The weekend just gone was a typical mix of Autumnal weather. A long planned trip to Richmond Park to watch the Red Deer rut on Friday proved to be a bit of a dismal affair, with heavy grey cloud and drizzle the order of the day.
Not much photographic potential, but still exciting to watch the Stags racing around trying to keep their harems intact and see off potential rivals.

Saturday morning was much different. Beautiful golden light smothered the land as the sun rose, and i was at Arne Nature Reserve on the shores of Poole Harbour to enjoy it and observe the Sika rut and enjoy some peace and quiet before the hordes turned up.

Sunday was another dismal day of grey cloud, that only cleared about an hour before sunset, giving me a brief window of opportunity at the sandy beach of Sandbanks, somewhere that i needed to gain more shots for the ongoing coastal guide.
